What redzen advertises
what redzen delivers
The art is fantastic, the game is getting great reviews, the campaign was very well executed, but Redzen used and continues to use renders that some might agree look far better than the components delivered, particularly regarding the add-ons. I’ve removed my comments to let you judge the photos for themselves.

The replies I’ve received from Redzen have been quite insulting and disappointing. If that changes, I will provide updates here.

REDZEN IS still USING RENDERS to sell add-ons
This is the main reason why I was motivated to build this website. In their new Bloody Business Gamefound campaign, Redzen is:
- Continuing to use renders that, some would agree, look much better than the products being delivered.
- Still selling the same add-ons (particularly the painted guns and barrels) from the original campaign, with what I believe to be misleading 3D renders.
- Selling those add-ons cheaper than they sold them to original Kickstarter backers!
The KICKSTARTER
Redzen Games launched Scarface 1920 on Kickstarter in 2021. The game looks fantastic! Kudos to the team, the art is excellent and the Kickstarter campaign was very well executed. The game has a score of 8.2 on BoardGameGeek, which is VERY good. I haven’t played it yet, but I’m anticipating the gameplay will be fun and compelling.
PROMO vs REALITY
When I received the game, I was disappointed by the production quality of many of the components. They did not live up to the high expectations set by the campaign.
Why this Website?
- Redzen Games used renders that I believe look significantly better than what they delivered in their Kickstarter campaign for Scarface 1920.
- When I contacted them to express my concerns about the quality of some of the components, they did not reply.
- When I posted my concerns on a forum for their new Bloody Business campaign, they stated that I was the only one of 10,000 backers who had any complaints
- In their new Bloody Business campaign, Redzen is still use promotional renders that exceed the quality of the actual produced goods.

A warning about Scarface 1920 – Bloody Business on Gamefound

if you back a REDZEN campaign, consider the add-ons carefully as you may find the products to not match the high expectations set by the promotional renders.
About me
I’m just a disappointed backer.
Scarface 1920, all in, was the most expensive Kickstarter game I’ve backed – €243.95 (approximately $352.59 CAD) – and the first and only one which I was very disappointed to find did not live up to the high expectations that had been set. I was disappointed by Redzen’s reaction to my concerns, and when I saw that they are continuing to use promotion renders which far exceed the reality of what they deliver, I figured I’d take a few hours of my time to try to warn other potential backers.
